

Vilma was the sister of Catherine Brocato and the late Nancy Cataldo, Edward DeLegge, Alberta Cannizzaro, Jennie Casseri, Lena Valle, Anthony DeLegge, Joseph DeLegge, Amedea Liberatore.
Vilma was the beloved wife of William Stickler for over 30 years until his sudden passing in 1982. She was married to Lou Matricciani in 1990 until he passed away in 1995.
Vilma’s Catholic faith was an essential part of her life. As an active member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, she attended daily mass for years and volunteered for church activities. She was a loving and generous friend to her church community.
Vilma was active in the ladies’ sections of Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy, Catholic Daughters of America, and various senior clubs and charitable organizations. She was an enthusiastic volunteer, serving dinners at the Knights of Columbus and pouring beers at Orioles games for many years. Through her church and these organizations, she enjoyed many enduring friendships.
Vilma was cherished by her large extended family and known for her excellent cooking and hospitality as well as her humor and warmth. Vilma was a bright light who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son Michael, daughter-in-law Jane, granddaughters Jessica and Stacy, great-grandchildren Camryn and Colin, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham MD 21236, on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
