Carl was born in Chicago, IL and married to Doris (Geweke) Holzinger a grammar school student of St. Luke Lutheran Church and graduate of Lane Tech High School. Carl was an IBEW member of 60 years and retired in 1996 from the San Francisco Chronicle.
Carl was an avid HO train collector, sport fan of the Giants and enjoyed traveling. He died peacefully from a brief battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, grandfather and great grandfather.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, daughter Sandy & Grant Nelson, daughter Cindy & Drew Wilson, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
