

Gail was born in Glastonbury, Connecticut, on January 17, 1935. Gail graduated from Manchester High School in 1953. She was married to Louis Charles Wright who passed away in November of 2003. Throughout her life, Gail participated in numerous clubs and organizations, such as The Children’s Home Society in San Rafael, St. Raphael’s Youth Group, The Welcome Wagon, Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Gail had many hobbies including needle point, jig saw puzzles, and she enjoyed both playing and watching golf, she was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers football team and the San Francisco Giants as well as a loyal member of The Red Sox Nation. Gail loved to cook and was always hunting new recipes to try. She truly loved the arts and enjoyed music and dancing. She enjoyed a long time passion of playing bridge with her dear friends in Novato, sometimes as often as three days per week. She was also a member of the Our Lady of Loretto Widows Group. She also worked for Emporium/Macy’s in retail management for 25 years. Gail is survived by her four children and nine grandchildren: Son, Dane Wright, and his wife Stephanie, and their two children Shannon and Jordann from Granby, Connecticut; daughter, Dawn Lee, and her husband Craig Lee from Suffield, Connecticut, and their two children Christopher, from Boston, Massachusetts, and Kelie from Tampa, Florida; daughter, Mary LeBlanc and Mark LeBlanc, and their three children Ryan, Shane and Christian from Danville, California; son, Mark Wright and his wife Patty and their two children, Nicole and Mark from Novato, California. Gail is also survived by her sister-in-law June Friend, and her three sons Scott, Brett, and Christopher; and two nephews John Friend and Robert Friend. She was predeceased by her brother, Clifford Friend and his wife Ann, and her brother Lee Friend. A service celebrating Gail’s life will be held at Keaton’s Redwood Chapel, 1801 Novato Boulevard in Novato, California on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Gail’s family will greet friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m., followed by a reception at Keaton’s. A private burial will take place in Manchester, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
