

Johann Enslin, Age 49, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 24, 2011. Johann led a successful and exciting life full of family and friends and was an inspiration to all who knew him. The latter years of his life were spent fighting a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Through his struggle, he encouraged all of those around him with his persistent indomitable spirit, perseverance, and intense bravery. Johann was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on July 20, 1961. He received a golf scholarship and attended the University of Maryland where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree (1984) and a Master's degree in Finance (1986). Johann worked as a financial consultant and stockbroker for over 13 years for Smith Barney in Larkspur. Johann is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Geddes Enslin, and his two deeply loved and adored daughters Lauren (11) and Gracie (8). He is also survived by his father, Alfred Enslin, sister, Claudia D'Alebout (Philip), his brother Christian Enslin (Marie) and many special nieces and nephews all residing in South Africa. He is predeceased by his mother, Georgina Waldeck Enslin. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law Donald and Deanne Geddes, brother-in-law Andrew Geddes and his children. Johann will be lovingly remembered for his wit, intelligence, kindness and his tremendous love for family, friends and life. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Novato Presbyterian Church at 710 Wilson Avenue.
