Barb was a loving and supportive mother to Becky (Chris) and Rachel (Jason) and stepmother to Megan.
She cherished her grandchildren Christian, Cayden, Emilia, and Adelyn. She is also survived by her husband William Gore, sister Bonnie Boender (Brian), brother Ross Jansma (Cindy), many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was welcomed home with open arms by her dad, special Uncle Jack, and granddaughter Emilia.
Barb attended Thorton High School in Illinois and continued her education at Thorton Jr College studying art. She thoroughly enjoyed her job as a secretary at Hometown Distributing in Chicago.
While her kids were young, she spent her days taking care of them, her home, and the children at her church through Awana and youth group activities. Later she found joy using her creative talents working at a local floral shop. Even through her sickness in life, Barb was always guided by her unwavering faith and was a light to others. In her free time, she could be found crafting, feeding the wildlife, reading her Bible, watching crime shows and snuggling her dogs. At the center of her world were her 2 daughters and her mother, who served as her closest companions and best friends.
Services will be held on May 11, 2024, at Chapel Hill Gardens South, 11333 South Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 11am - 1pm with a service at 1pm.
