A Life of Love and Dedication

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Geraldine Elizabeth (Peterson) Pruitt, at the age of 76, on July 21, 2025. Born on February 14, 1949, in Blue Island, Illinois, Geri lived a life filled with love and dedication.

A Devoted Wife and Mother, for 57 wonderful years, she was married to Roy Pruitt Sr., sharing countless memories and building a beautiful family together. Geri was a woman of many talents, working in various roles throughout her life, but her true passions were sewing, caring for her animals, and enjoying the serenity of lake life. Above all, she cherished her family, always putting their needs first and offering unwavering support and love.

Family and Legacy

Geri leaves behind her cherished sons, Roy Jr. (Michelle) and Bryan (Amy), as well as her beloved daughter, Jamie (Rob Storako). She was a proud grandmother to Jessica (Carlos), Kyle (Celeste), Josh (Cassidy), Alex, Haily, Madison, Emme, Nick, Brayden, Brock, and Camden. Also a loving great-grandmother to Aubrey, Gabriella, Daniella, Jaxson, Henry, and Evelyn.

Her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. We invite all who knew her to celebrate her remarkable life and the love she shared with each of us.

Honoring Geri's Generosity

Roy and Geri always assisted others and donated to Relay for Life, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars for disabled veterans. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any of these charities in Geri's honor.

A short burial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 11333 S Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
