Jeanine Ann Sansone

Jeanine Ann Sansone (nee Meike) was born on January 20th, 1940 and passed away on March 15th, 2024. Jeanine was born in Sheridan, Wyoming to Arthur and Margaret Meike (nee Troutt). She loved Wyoming and started her education in a one room schoolhouse. She loved horses, barrel racing, and living on the ranch.

She married Carl Sansone of Chicago, IL on November 5th, 1955 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. They moved to Chicago and initially lived with the Sansone family in a cold water flat. They bought a house in Burbank, IL in 1963. Jeanine stayed home with their five children until they were of school age. She went back to school and got her GED and eventually a degree in accounting.

She worked many years at Rheem Manufacturing in the payroll department until the plant's closing. Her next job was in the payroll department at Community High School district 218 Eisenhower High School. She was elected to the District 220 Reavis HS school board serving on the board from 1973-1983. She was integral along with other board members in passing a referendum that saved extra-curricular activities at Reavis in 1973. Later in life she was also involved with Kiwanis for many years and served in several leadership positions.

Jeanine was a great cook and made the best ravioli. She enjoyed family holiday parties and made everyone feel welcome. She attended many of her children's activities as well as her grandchildren. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren that she enjoyed immensely. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family very much.

Jeanine is preceded in death by her husband Carl A. Sansone and is survived by by her five children, Carl (Kay) of Davenport, IA and their daughter Meagan (Kevin) Meneou; Tom (Holly) of Downers Grove, IL and their son T.J. and daughter Lindsey; Donna (Marshall) Conick of New Lenox, IL and her sons Joe Kudla and Tim (Mindy) Kudla and daughter Justine Kudla; Cheryl Sansone (Don Biederman) of Chicago, IL and her sons Andrew (Kim) Wendt and Bryan (Marisa) Wendt; and Karen (Paul) Schultz of Surprise, AZ and their daughter Molly and her sons Chris and Dan. Jeanine is also survived by her sister Mary Meike, and her brother Arthur (Sherry) Meike as well as her brother-in-law Michael (Louise) Sansone, sisters-in-law Joann (Ed) Kukulka, Debbie Sansone, and Pat Sansone, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made in Jeanine's name to the Alzheimer's Association.

A visitation for Jeanine will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A chapel funeral service will begin on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00am, at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home. Interment at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery, 11333 South Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
