

John W. Knoska (86) of Alsip, IL passed away on September 3, 2021 at his home in Alsip, Illinois. He was the husband of Josie (Leshkovich), and previously the late Janet (Blum). John was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of the late John and the late Lillian Knoska. He is survived by his loving wife Josie and his children Jennifer Pollitt (Bob), John Knoska (Mari) and Natasha Zhogol (Igor). Cherished Grandfather of Bobby, Joey, Maya, MaryJane, and Vlad. Brother to Janice Kohout (the late Garrett) and the late Richard Knoska. Fond Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A graveside service will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery.

John has lived in his home in Alsip for 59 years. He was the owner of the Blue Island and Apache Gun Shops. Later became a union carpenter working at McCormick Place building trade show displays.
John was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a church trustee. He was a member of the Palos Gun Club where he was a skeet shooter. He served in the U. S. Army and loved telling stories of his time stationed in Germany. He loved westerns, war movies and March Madness. Eating lunch out with friends or family was one of his favorite things in retirement.
