

Larry joined the Military in July of 2005. His duty stations included Fort Wainwright Alaska, Schofield Barracks Hawaii, Fort Drum New York where he earned his air assault wings, and Fort Bragg North Carolina, where he earned his paratrooper wings. His exceptional skills and leadership ability enabled him to join the Warrant Officer cohort in 2016; Larry then earned his final promotion while at his current duty station in Fort Bliss Texas as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in March of 2023.
Larry participated in multiple combat operations which consisted of 4 combat deployments, 3 tours to Iraq, and 1 tour to Afghanistan. Larry received a plethora of achievements during his 18 years of service including: 1 Meritorious Service Medal, 3 Army Commendations Medals, 9 Army Achievement Medals, 3 Army Good Conduct Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars, an Iraq Campaign Medal with 2 bronze stars, a Global War on Terrorism Medal, a Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with bronze 2, an Army Service Ribbon, 6 Overseas Ribbons, a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Medal, a Combat Action Badge, a Valorous Unit Award, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, son, grandson, brother, and friend. He had a passion for family, friends and opened his heart to everyone whilst carrying a spirit of laughter and joy. A few of his favorite hobbies in life were doing jiu-jitsu, playing video games, and creating and playing music. He was a phenomenal leader and many people looked up to him and gleaned from his knowledge and wisdom. Larry created atmospheres of change and genuine concern for authentic communication of love and friendship. His biggest attribute was that he was the greatest legacy builder when it came to walking in the true value of honoring and taking care of family always. Larry had the ability to make friends with anyone, and the friendships he formed are priceless.
Larry is survived by the joy of his life, Linda, whom he was married to for 15 years; his three children Joshua, Adiana, and Urijah; mother, Michelle; grandmother, Adelaida; brothers, Carlos, Richy, and Luis; aunts Cynthia and Alma; uncles Ruben, Juan, and Carlos; cousin Samantha; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Larry is truly loved and will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten.

Visitation Sunday, August 13th from 4-8pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Avenue; Oak Lawn, IL. Family and friends are asked to meet Monday at St. Turibus Catholic Church, 5646 S. Karlov Avenue; Chicago, IL for funeral Mass at 9:30am. Committal prayers will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery.
