Mary Sue Powell, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Mary Sue found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories with each of them. She also had a deep love for gardening and cherished the time she spent alongside her late husband, Paul, sharing life’s simple pleasures.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Karen A. (David) Kristofek; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Powell; her cherished grandchildren, Paul R. (Patricia) Powell, Kevin Powell, Jason Kristofek, and Justin Kristofek; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Audrey, Sarah and Jonothan Powell. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul James Powell; and her son, Paul S. Powell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow immediately after, at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
