Robert M. Zimmerman, age 62 of Alsip, Illinois passed away at his home on November 4, 2020. Bob was a devoted husband of 35 years to Cindy Zimmerman, nee Bretveld; caring father to Brett, Jill (Brian) McCubbin and Brad; doting "Boba" to granddaughter Lillian McCubbin. He was the beloved son of Marion R. and the late Joan (Rak) Zimmerman; dear brother to Cindy (Larry) Jonaitis, Michael (Diane) Zimmerman, Pamela (Mike) Kubiak and Joseph (Tina) Zimmerman; brother-in-law to Marlene and Martin McManus; uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Bob was a long-term employee of Atlas Tube in Chicago. During his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors and spent time fishing, working in his yard and feeding the many birds that came by to visit. His favorite way to enjoy a day was playing with Lillian, working in his garage on a project or enjoying time with family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 7th at Chapel Hill Garden South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central, Oak Lawn from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.christmaswithoutcancer.org
