Sylvia Vazquez

Sylvia Vazquez, 38, of Evergreen Park, Illinois, passed away on February 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She is survived by her parents, Jose A. & Elpidia Vazquez; her siblings, Angelo & Antonio Vazquez; her beloved husband, Nohe Arroyo; and her cherished daughter, Jude Isabelle Arroyo.

Sylvia was a beautiful person inside and out—an exemplary wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. She lived her life with grace, compassion, and strength. Her heart was always open to others; she never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer heartfelt words of comfort and encouragement to anyone in need. Her kindness was not occasional—it was who she was.

She was the devoted wife of Nohe Arroyo and the proud, loving mother of Jude Isabelle Arroyo, who was the light and center of her world. Sylvia poured herself into motherhood with joy and purpose, going above and beyond to build a beautiful life and strong village for her daughter and their family. She was actively involved in her child’s school, her church, and her community, always seeking ways to uplift and support those around her.

Sylvia found peace and fulfillment in reading and in prayer. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, grounding her in times of both joy and challenge. Through her faith, she nurtured not only her own spirit but also the spirits of those blessed to know her.

Her love was steady, her presence comforting, and her smile unforgettable. Though her time here was far too short, Sylvia’s impact will live on in the hearts of her husband, daughter, parents, siblings, extended family, and the many friends whose lives she touched so deeply.

She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered with love.

A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, located at 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, on February 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral mass will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026 at St. Bede & St. Denis Parish, 8200 S Kostner Ave, Chicago, IL 60652, on February 20, 2026, at 10:00am with the committal service to follow at St Mary Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, located at 87th Street &, Evergreen Park, IL 60805, on February 20, 2026, from 11:30 am
