Yumg was born on October 27, 1934 in Pyongyang, North Korea.
Her story may have started as an only child in North Korea, however, moving to South Korea is where her story truly started. Finding love with a man in the U.S. Army, she devoted her life to her husband and 5 children, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family dearly. She was known for her kindness, generosity, her ability to overlook your faults and her “mom” sense of humor.
Throughout her life, Yung Ja Bryant was deeply passionate about gardening and cooking. She will be remembered for her warmth and generosity as she never measured while cooking but cooked with her whole heart for her family. She always would cook enough for an army. You never left her house hungry. She will also be remembered for her gardening as this was her passion. She loved her trips to the nursery and garden centers to pick out the season’s choices. You would always find her tending her garden and you would always leave with vegetables from the garden.
Yung Ja was always happiest around her family, especially with one of her great-grandbabies in her arms. For all who knew her, she touched a special place in all their hearts and will truly be missed. Her laughter was contagious; her smile was warm and welcoming and her willingness to keep your bellies full will never be forgotten.
Yung Ja Bryant is survived by her husband George Bryant, her 5 children Deloris Bryant, Mary Rocchino, Venus Bryant Huston, Fred Bryant, Teena Kotel, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
