Adele A Schmidt (nee Arrighi), 97, a resident of Lombard for 65 years, passed away peacefully at Autumn Leaves in St. Charles on July 18, 2016. Adele enjoyed a lifetime of storytelling, gardening, bird watching and sewing. She was an Avon representative for 40 years; retiring at age 90. She enjoyed playing on a golf league and bowling league until her early 90’s. She was a parishioner at St Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Adele is survived by her children Carolyn (Michael) Sobacki, Susan (Richard) Theisen, Nancy (Brian) Carpenter and Frederick Schmidt. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren (Blythe, Renee, Max, Gregory, Matthew, Jennifer, Nicholas, Mark, Andrew, Sophia and Gabrielle) and 9 great-grandchildren (Logan, Payton, Brendan, Kendall, Isla, Ari, Giulianna, Olivia and Evan). She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Benjamin, and her son Arthur Bruce. Funeral Service will be at 12 PM on Thursday, 7/21, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Rd, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, where a visitation will take place prior to the service from 10 AM - 12 PM. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
