

Amelia Javier (nee Garcia) passed away peacefully on February. 5 2025, at the age of 84. She was born in, Manila, Philippines. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jose Javier; her beloved daughter; Amelynn (Norman) Ochotorena, and son, Joseph (Wendy) Javier; cherished grandchildren, Kayla and Kyle Ochotorena, Nya, Jaiden, and Adrian Javier.
She graduated with a bachelors degree and master’s degree in nursing from Baguio General Hospital. She went on to work for the United States Veterans Administration Hospital, as a registered nurse, and Passaic General Hospital, in Montreal, as a clinical instructor.
Throughout her life she was honored with numerous awards such as, Lions International President Award, Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, President Carter Achievement. Amelia had a vibrant spirit and found joy in singing, dancing bringing energy to any gathering. She was a true people person and cherished socializing with family and friends.
She will best be remembered as a dignified and dedicated professional, whose nursing career was marked by compassion and kindness. Beyond her career she was an outstanding wife, a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother, always placing her family at the heart of her life. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love will continue to inspire the ones she loved.
In lieu of flowers the Javier family would appreciate memorial contributions to be made towards the funeral expenses, as they navigate this difficult time.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Friday, February 14, 2025 at 9:30 AM at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1S314 Summit Ave, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Internment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
