Dad, I miss you so much. Not a day goes by that I am not saddened by the loss we have endured. Mom is not taking it too well and neither are any of us kids. I guess I still can not understand why this has happened. I know that God has a plan for everyone, but I think I am being selfish by saying that it was way too early for you too go. I wish I was a little closer with you, and us moving out of state made us further apart. I really did enjoy talking with you when we spoke on the phone, and I am really sad that I did not get to talk to you before you passed. The last time we actually spoke was just after you had the hip surgery and were in the recovery room. I really miss you, and so does Zak and Keri.

We will be together again soon, you, Dave and I will go fishing again.

My older brother how I miss you so much just talking to you about life and trying to help me understand after our brother David passed away. Things will not be the same without you and Dave  two brothers gone within a year and a half I guess Dave was so lonely for you .

its already been 2 months and its just crazy how time has passed and your not here. aunt bonnie made me cry down below you were such a lucky man. its hard losing 2 uncles in 2 years. you always made me laugh and im really going to miss that. its been tough without you. and i hate thinking about it, ive felt your presence with me a couple times and its crazy because ive never belived in that. i miss you so much and cant wait until i get to see you again. take care of all of us and watch over me and everyone. i love you uncle don <3

My precious Don, thank you for 43 wonderful yrs. of marriage, for our beautiful children and precious grandchildren.  We thought we were being funny to schedule your hip surgery on our anniversary, 3/21/13 and my breast surgery on 2/14/13 so we'd remember the dates.  Little did we know that 3/21/13 would be leading up to your death.  I'm thankful that I stayed with you 7 of the 8 days/nights in the hospital since they were our last together.  I'm working through God's decision to bring you HOME earlier than I would've ever imagined but I can't help but feel the emptiness, sorrow, grief and loss of my beloved, my best friend, today which is already one month since your passing.  I know we will be together one day and I look forward to that day.  I miss our simple, quiet times together, how you and I could make the funniest moments together all by ourselves and feel contentment with such little things in our life.  We really didn't need much, did we, as long as we had each other.  I cherish the times we had traveling on our Harley all over the US and Canada, and all the memories we made!  I realize God needed you more than we did for now, I've realized how long and how much pain you were experiencing and He wanted to ease that suffering for you for eternity.  I also know you have not been the same and the emptiness you've felt since your brother Dave passed, knowing how it broke your heart to lose him and, now you are together enjoying God's perfect peace and love together.  I guess I truly didn't realize the things I didn't have to think of doing around the house because you just took care of them. You'd be proud of me putting gas in the car now, going to the bank for the first time in years, and I'm having a difficult time balancing the check book but you probably knew I would.  I'm feeling that I'm being tested since you left with various things going wrong in the house but we are getting through them.  It still seems unreal you are gone, the house seems so empty even though we are still the four of us in the house, expecting you will be walking into the room, joining us at the dinner table or you blasting the TV every time the National Anthem is sung at the Blackhawk's games.  We sure loved watching our sports together, the Cubs, we even watched the White Sox play when we were desperate to see a game, any basketball and football games.  TV rarely goes on any more.  I miss you sitting beside me in Bible Class and in Church.  I feel so blessed you were baptized last 5/27/12. The kids and I have many family meetings and moments of just sitting and recalling memories of you and how you touched each of our lives, laughing and crying, and how you filled our home with laughter.  We didn't realize you were preparing Marcus for a huge responsibility.  Marcus is the man of the house now and he's keeping up with what needs to be done around the house just like you taught him.  He relays he feels more like he lost his Dad, not just his Grampa, and little Terell is really missing you taking them to school and playing the Good Morning song along the way.  Kristie and I get together to visit Dave and your graves on the weekends and go for a meal afterwards - guess we'll just have to be on the buddy system without our guys until we are together again!  Just know you are always my love and will always be in my heart forever until I join you.  Love you forever ~ Bonnie
