

Jacqueline Jeannine Rice (née Van Ferson) known as Jeannine to family and Jackie to her nursing staff, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Born on August 3, 1931, In Elkhart, Indiana. Jeannine lived a long and full life marked by dedication to her family, her faith, and her work.
Jeannine began her profession journey with numerous companies to include ALCOA, Jordan & Associates, and Stewart & Stevenson. However, her passion was working with Gene and Sue Smith and providing payroll and billing for their franchises across the country for over three decades.
Throughout her work life, Jeannine was known for her diligence and commitment to excellence by all her employers.
Her personal life was deeply rooted in faith and family. A devoted Believer in Christ, Jeannine shared her beliefs openly to those around her, especially with her family. Her spiritual strength was a guiding light throughout her life.
Jeannine cherished time spent with family and friends. These relationships were central to her happiness and well-being…even if you forgot your own birthday, she would always be the one to call you, whether you were family or a childhood classmate. She found joy in the simple moments of connection that enriched the lives of those who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her loving daughter Reverie Escobedo-Van Ferson and son Chris A. Rice. Jeannine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lewis “Pat” E. Rice, sons Lennie S. Rice and Gregory Rice; and daughters Patsy L. McCormich and Peggy J. Rice.
Jeannine had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were all dear to her.
A inurnment service will be held graveside at the Chapel Hill Gardens West, Nativity Section, on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
