Larry was Born Christmas Day 1934 and gained his angel wings March 10th, 2021. Larry was loved by all who knew him. Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised as well as attended school in Des Plaines, Illinois at Maryville Academy. He ran with a crew of guys that would remain his friends for life. Proudly serving our country, he loved to share stories of his days as an Army Airborne Soldier and adventures of jumping from the air planes 27 times. This life would prove to the foundation of who he was. Friends and family remember him as a confident, optimistic, kind, generous, understanding man.
Larry (AKA Trouble) was a true prankster always being silly, laughing and joking. He was a proud man, loyal to his family and a hard worker. A true competitor, Larry excelled at all things sports. From his stories of punting the football barefoot to horse shoes with his buddies. Whether he was playing cards with his family or sitting side line at a kids sporting event....he loved winning. Larry passed his winning spirit on to his family. If you were to ask him what his greatest accomplishment was...he would with out a doubt say his family.
Larry leaves behind his Sweetheart, Shirley. They were married 44 years. She tirelessly cared for him and he in turn loved to make her crazy. He also loved her with all his heart. Never forgetting flowers or a card to celebrate all things “Larry and Shirley”. Larry also leaves behind a son, Danny Murray; Daughters Tina (Vince), Stacey (Jim), Denise (Eric), Kelly (Scott); many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Larry is preceded in death by his son “Little” Larry and Grandson “Little” Danny.
