Barbara Jean Brand

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Jean Brand on October 23, 2023 in Clovis, California. She passed away shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. She was 91 years old.

Born on January 3, 1932, Barbara was the daughter of Robert and Rose Corcel. She attended San Benito High School in Hollister, California, where she met her future husband, Charles Brand. Charlie and Barbara got married in 1950, one year after graduating from high school.

Shortly after their wedding, Charlie and Barbara settled in Hollister and had four children. In 1965, they moved the family to Ahwahnee, a place they fell in love with and a great place for the kids to have farm animals, play in the creek and ride motorcycles.

After working tirelessly for years, Charlie and Barbara decided it was time to travel the country in their RV and visit friends, relatives and places of interest. They also lived in Oregon and Nevada for a short time, but returned to Ahwahnee to be near their family and live in a place they called home.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, reading and playing card games. She was devout Catholic and an active member of St. Dominic Savio Church in Bass Lake. Barbara also enjoyed the holidays, decorating the house and planning family events. She treasured the memories that came with birthdays, weddings and graduations.

After more than 70 years together, Charlie passed away in 2022. Now Barbara and Charlie are together once again. Barbara is survived by her children: Ronald, Dennis and his wife Lori, Steven, and Sandra. She leaves behind her brother Robert Corcel and his wife Dollie. She will be missed by her grandchildren: April and her husband Tim, Justin, Robert, Chelsea and her husband Bobby, and Bryan. Her four great grandchildren, Joelle, Jade, Vivienne and Colt, brought her great joy. She'll also be missed by her new friends at the assisted living community in Clovis.

Barbara will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit and love of family.
