Nana or Bertha as some may know her was one of the Greatest people I was blessed to know and be around. She helped Raise me in Palmdale California for most of my childhood and gave me the qualities of being a decent human being. We fell out of touch after she moved but the last year we got back in touch. I remember her taking me to her Baptist church growing up, and taking me to Chucks house and all the time i used to run away on my bike and ride to her house for safety and comfort. She was the was and now is an angel. I wish I could have seen her one last time but I know I’ll see her soon in heaven. I love you Nana I hope you are resting easy. 

She was a wonderful mother and always looking out for those around her. She was always available at any time if you needed to chat or talk through something rant or just laugh or cry - it didn’t matter what it was - she was there. She never turned anyone away and loved everyone she encountered. Her ultimate pleasure was being Nana to everyone and she had a true love for the Lord where I can be comforted in knowing that she will spend eternity with Him. I miss her every day when we would text each other just to check in, see what was going on in our days, talk about the weather and life’s events. I still reach for my phone to share a picture or to just check in and say hi then remember she is no longer here. She will always be in my heart and in my mind until the time when we meet again - she will always be my mother. Love you mom always and forever. 

Bertha and Nick took me in when i was 17 years old they called me their daughter as well. I remember being out one night for my sisters wedding and i got hime late and she said as i walked in the door, your in trouble!!!! We laugh about it til this day. She is a very special lady and mom to me i will miss her until i see her again in heaven. I Love you mom and thank you for everything you have done for me! I miss you and love you with all my heart.

There are many many special memories I will hold them dear the rest of my life, of my faithful, loving friend, Bertha. One of my favorites is the day she and I drove to Solvang.  It was an absolutely beautiful country and coastline drive.  We sang and we talked nonstop the entire drive, sharing our hearts with one another.  We enjoyed our visit, as it felt like we were exploring a city in Europe itself.  It was one glorious day! 
Also,  I will treasure all of days we spent  together worshiping and serving our Lord at AV Baptist Church. What a wonderful blessing that was!   
And, once she moved North and we lost sight of each other it was difficult. However, we continued to stay in touch via phone calls, texts, and cards/letters.  I  could easily confide in her, because she was always a trusted friend. I loved her. I will always love her.  My heart will much miss her beyond words.
I would like her family to know Bertha will remain close, in my heart and soul, all the days of my earthly life, and to that glorious day when we meet again. Amen.
