Dennis Lynn Aleshire

Dennis (or Skip, as most knew him) was born on April 1, 1948, in Aberdeen, Washington, where he spent his formative years, surrounded by family. He moved to San Jose, California as a teenager, and attended Andrew Hill High School, where he met his future wife, Elaine Pederson. The two married after high school graduation, working hard and starting a family right away. Skip started his career at West Bay Sanitary District at a young age, making many good friends there and retiring after close to 40 years.

More than anything, Skip was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed family dinners, a good margarita, vacations, reading, golf with the guys, and attending the kids’ games and plays. He was a fun-loving man, with a quick smile, a great sense of humor, and a big heart.

Dennis & Elaine retired to Oakhurst in 2008, where they have enjoyed being involved in the community and living close to their family.

Skip is survived by his loving wife, Elaine, his children, Michele Shockley (& her husband William) and Ron Aleshire (& his wife Heather), and his grandchildren, Starr & Alison Shockley, and Kylie, Cody & Dawson Aleshire.

A funeral service for Dennis will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Sierra Chapel, Oakhurst, California. A committal service will occur at Oakhill Cemetery, Oakhurst, California.
