Deacon Robert Alfred Watson, age 82, of Oakland, California passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was the only child who was born to the parents of Abraham and Louise Watson in Memphis Tennessee on January 21, 1946.
He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 11 in May 1957, and became a member of the Lane Avenue Baptist Church, Rev. Jasper W. Williams, Sr.,Pastor.
Robert graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Memphis, TN in May 1964. He continued his education by receiving an Associate Degree from Laney Community College in Oakland for Data Processing in 1976.
He joined the U. S. Navy in July 1964 and was home ported in Alameda, Concord, and Port Chicago while onboard ship, and did his shore duty at Oakland Supply Center in Oakland, California where he was Honorably Discharged in January 1971 as a Storekeeper 2nd Class.
