William Satchell Jr., age 84, of Oakland, California passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Mr. William Satchell, Jr. son of William Satchell, Sr., and Mary Satchell, was born in Courtland, Alabama on October 22, 1938. He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, uniting with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and was baptized as a public confession of faith in Courtland, Alabama.
He received his education at Courtland Colored High, now known as Central High ,and graduated in 1956.
William, Satch, Tippy, PaPa, Babe, Mr. Williams, or whatever you knew him as, has been a blessing to many people in his life. He was a member of the United States Navy, where he served his country proud. He loved to tell of all the places he had traveled and had many stories for each one.
He looked forward to going to the Monterey Blues Festival every year with his "Too Sweet" Vanessa.
