

Blasa Nidia Gutierrez de Diaz, age 84, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. She was born on February 4, 1942, in Cuba, where she spent her early years before building a life centered on faith, family, and service.
Blasa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister whose warmth and strength touched all who knew her. She was married to her beloved husband, Jose Manuel Diaz, in August of 1961, and together they shared a lifetime of love, dedication, and family.
Blasa devoted her career to serving others as a head cook for the Monroe County School Board, where she was known for her hard work, reliability, and care for the students and staff she served. Cooking was not only her profession but also one of her greatest passions. She found joy in preparing meals that brought people together, especially for her family, whom she cherished deeply.
Above all else, Blasa loved her family. She had a special passion for family gatherings and cooking, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
She is survived by her son, Jose Diaz, and her daughter, Roxana Diaz; her grandchildren, Erikah Bertoloti, Branden Diaz, Jordan Diaz, Mya Lyew, and Cassandra Resto; and her great-grandchild, Christian Weaver and Sebastian Castellon. She is also survived by her brother, Angel "Tello" Gutierrez, and her sister, Ana Cobo, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Blasa will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the love she poured into her family and community. Her legacy lives on through those she loved and the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit.
