Charles Spurgeon Casey, age 80, of Ocala, passed away on June 1, 2013 at the Legacy Hospice House. He was born on October 29, 1932 in Clio, Alabama to the late Delmas and Alma (Phillips) Casey. He was also predeceased by his brother, Dan Casey. He retired from IBM after 32 years of dedicated employment. He played high school and college basketball and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. His family fondly remembers his love for telling stories, playing ping-pong, and teaching his grandkids how to play poker. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years Darlene, and three daughters and their husbands Dian and Robert McLeod of Jacksonville, FL, Cindy and Allan Lindsey of Riverview, FL, and Donna and Stefan Feuerherdt of Tualatin, OR and seven grandchildren. A funeral service has been scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 3:00pm with visitation from 2:30 to 3:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County or the American Heart Association.
