He was born to Floyd Dryden and Alice Campbell Dryden on January 31, 1947, in Somerville, Massachusetts. David was raised in Charlestown, Massachusetts where he met the love of his life, Josephine Serra. They married on June 28, 1970 and spent 48 loving years together. Prior to his marriage, he served in the Army where he received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.
David was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother who was a jack of all traits; he could build or fix anything. He loved to hunt, fish and most of all, he was happiest when spending time with family and his Siamese Cat, Simon and German Shepherd, Foxie. Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Josephine Dryden and their daughters Michele Nappi (son-in-law, Michael), Marcia Kasper and Jennifer Dryden. He was also survived by his grandchildren Stephen McPheeters, Katlyn McLeroy, Joey DeMarco, Christina Nappi, Alexis DeMarco and his sisters; Gloria Fitzgerald, Mary Jo Hines, Dottie Murphy, JoAnne Pinto and his brother Ronnie Dryden. David is preceded in death by his brothers; Donnie Dryden, Richard Dryden, Gerald Dryden and his sisters; Gene Wallace, Gail Bramante and Doris Luce.
His family is very grateful to the community and their outreach in this time of sorrow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 am followed by a 1:00 graveside service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Ocala.
