George was born in Bridgeport, CT and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the City of Ocala where he worked in the Community Programs Department as a Project Coordinator for the Renew Ocala Program. After obtaining his pilot’s license, he enjoyed his flying time. He found solace and comfort in his favorite past time by becoming one with nature in the woods, which he nicknamed his “Fortress of Solitude.”
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rosie; sons, Tim (Jody) and Scott (Tanya); brother, Dan (Hilde); grandson, Scotty (Micah) and granddaughter, Roselyn Piper.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Grace Episcopal Church, 503 S.E. Broadway St., Ocala, FL 34471. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Marion County or Grace Episcopal Church.
