Jack J. Cornette, 87, passed away in Georgia on Jan 11th . Born in Daisy, KY. Graduate of Stuart Robinson Presbyterian School in Blackey, KY. Attended Clemson College and was in the ROTC, Served in the US Navy. Graduated from NC State with a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry Management, his first job was a fire spotter in the Montana wilderness, He marked timber for Union Camp paper mill, then worked in the US forest service and the Tennessee Valley Authority, and finished his career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Adopted Florida as his home state in the early 1960’s and was a resident of Ocala for 50 years. He was an avid fisherman. He is preceded in death by his 9 siblings. Jack is survived by “Billie” Aaron Cornette and his 6 children Resi Cornette Passman, Joel Cornette, Jeremy Cornette, Cary Cornette, Tammy Cornette Sabo, Johanna Cornette Marsan, and 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. The family will be having a gathering at the funeral home on Friday, Jan 16, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 2:30 PM then proceeding to the cemetery for a graveside service at 3:00 pm all are welcome to attend and visit with the family.
