

Mary Louise Trego passed away peacefully in her bed on May 1, 2019 at the age of 82. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages, Florida, Friday, May 31, 2019, at 8:30 A.M. Burial will follow later that day at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with the remains of her husband Robert Edward Trego.
She is survived by her brother Ronald Walton and sister Judith (Walton) Smith; children Lori Lee (Harding) Meyers and Lance Joseph Harding; step-children Stephen Robert Trego and Jane Elizabeth (Trego) Pfister; grandchildren Tricia (Meyers) Sacchetti, Vanessa and Hope Harding, Tatum and Murphy Trego, Jack and Will Pfister; and great-grandchildren Talon and Skylar Sacchetti.
Mary Lou was born on October 21, 1936 in Loogootee, IN to James Talford Walton and Helen Louise (Smith) Walton. She graduated from Loogootee High School in 1954. She was married for 26 years to Chester Lee Harding, raising two children in Shoals, IN and working in the office at Shoals Community Schools.
In 1985, Mary Lou married her close friend from school Ed Trego and they lived several years in Terre Haute, IN. She worked as an Accountant for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, from which she graduated summa cum laude on May 6, 1990. In 2000, they moved to The Villages, Florida, where they lived with their beloved little dog Zoe.
Mary Lou loved movies and was passionate about genealogy, being an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of Colonial Dames. She loved her family, supported her friends in The Villages and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She will be missed by the many lives she impacted.
