Phyllis Hamm, of Citra, Florida, died of cardiac arrest on April 23, 2014 at West Marion Hospital. Phyllis was born in Chicago on July 26, 1937 to Walter and Rose Goethals. At age 21 she married Raymond Hamm, who died in 1996. Phyllis retired in 2006 from the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce, where she had been membership director for many years. She is survived by a brother, Robert Glenn (wife, Sigrid) of Denton, Texas; nieces Tricia and Brittany; nephews Christopher, Phillip and Paul; and many friends-like-family in Marion County, Florida and elsewhere. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and a funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. Phyllis will be laid to rest next to her husband in Ontonagon, Michigan. The family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Marion County, P.O. Box 1542, Ocala, Florida, 34478.
