Suzanne was born on January 3, 1936, in Salem, Illinois to Charley Ray and Ethel Pflanz Knox. She married Raymond Lows the week after she graduated from college in June of 1958. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2014. They had two children, Timothy K. Lows and Kimberly K. Lows.
Suzanne loved learning and teaching. She held a B.S. and M.S. from Southern Illinois University. She coached debate at Georgetown College in Kentucky and English at Illinois State University and at Sycamore High School in Illinois. She was highly regarded as a teacher trainer and maintained lifelong friendships with her colleagues.
She enjoyed her time working at JCPenney and Belk due to her passion for decorating, fashion and helping people look their best. She was rarely seen without coordinating jewelry sets and loved to create the perfect table setting.
She was a congregant of several Baptist churches throughout her life where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed social functions. She was a member of the Red Hat Society to spend time with her friends in retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
She is survived by her son Timothy of Greensboro, North Carolina, her daughter Kimberly of McKinney, Texas, her sister Valerie Preston of Stockton, California, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed for her kindness and caring heart.
A visitation and service in her honor will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a Service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Johnny Lane officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
