

Barry Duke, 62 of Estero, Florida, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 from complications of ALS. Formerly of Ocean and Long Branch, New Jersey, he has been an Estero resident since 2007. He was born April 12, 1952 in Montclair, New Jersey, the son of Bernard and Florence (née Saltzman) Duke.
Mr. Duke graduated from Asbury Park High School and went on to graduate from the University of Miami in Miami, FL. He was the President of Bookbinders, Inc. in Jersey City and Tinton Falls, NJ. He was a former member of Beacon Hill Golf Club, Hollywood Golf Club and West Bay Club, Estero, Florida. He was an avid golfer, a wine connoisseur and a cigar aficionado.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene Acerra Duke of Estero, FL; his father, Bernard Duke of Madrid, Spain; sister, Robin Montagna of Estero, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeanne and Joe DiGiacomo of Hernando, FL, Michael and Janine Acerra of Neptune, NJ, Laura and Marc Salemme of Cream Ridge, NJ, Lisa Looney and Joe Meglio of Howell, NJ and Mary Acerra of West Long Branch, NJ; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and in whose lives he was very much involved. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Duke in 1993.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Bloomfield Cooper Chapel, 2130 Highway 35, Ocean, NJ.
