David L. Greene

David L. Greene passed away of Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the age of 91. He was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania and settled in Monmouth County while serving in the United States Army during World War II. While stationed at Fort Monmouth, he met the love of his life, Ruth. He and Ruth were married for 63 years before her passing in 2006. They lived in Oakhurst where they raised two daughters, Jill and Janet Lynne. He attended the University of Alabama undergraduate and then went on to Rutgers Law School at Newark, proudly passing the bar prior to his graduation in 1949. He was a highly respected trial attorney known to be a zealous advocate for his clients. He and his daughter Jill shared a law firm, located in Avon-by-the-Sea, where they worked side-by-side for twenty-five years. He was so dedicated to the practice of law that he could be found at his office seven days a week. While not practicing law, he enjoyed playing the clarinet, bird-watching, star-gazing, and watching classic movies with his daughter. David is survived by his daughters, Jill and Janet Lynne, as well as many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00a.m., on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels located at 2130 Highway 35, Ocean Township, NJ 07712.
