After returning from WWII, Dave owned a bakery with his brother Charlie and brother-in-law Dyke in Minersville, PA. Later in life he enjoyed selling prefab utility buildings in New Jersey. Dave loved swimming in the Red Bank YMCA and enjoyed the many conversations he shared with friends in downtown Red Bank.
He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice, in 2001. He is survived by his three daughters: Rona Kaplan and her husband Stuart Freidlin, of Fair Haven, NJ; Karen Kaplan, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Jody Kaplan and her husband Michael Lippa, of Manhattan, NY; and three grandchildren: Shira and her husband Jonathan, Ben, and Matthew; and a great granddaughter, Molly.
A funeral service will be held today at 10am at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean, NJ. Interment will follow at B’nai Israel Cemetery, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
