She was born in Russia and came to the United States in 1921 with her parents, sister and brother. She lived in Union, NJ, before moving to the Wayside section of Ocean Township in 1997.
Mrs. Chester was a graduate of Brooklyn College and had a long career as a bookkeeper in medical offices.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred who died in 1980. She is survived by her son Alan and his wife Tina of Wayside, her daughter, Simma and her husband Jack Friedman of Hillsbough, NJ and six grandchildren: Aaron, Daniel, Jared, Max, Zachary and Sarah.
Chapel services Sunday 11:00am from The Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township.
Shiva will be observed at the Chester residence in Ocean Township Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and at the Friedman residence in Hillsborough on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
