

Miriam Blechman (nee Greenberg), 98, died April 15, 2020 in her home at The Chelsea, in Tinton Falls, NJ. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, she graduated from Weequahic High School. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Stanley Blechman, also of Newark. They were happily married for 61 years.
Residing in Hillside, NJ, for over 20 years they became active in the Jewish community there. Miriam served as president of the Sisterhood of Temple Shomrei Torah in Hillside and was also an active member of Hadassah.
Miriam worked as a bookkeeper for a number of companies in New Jersey eventually retiring from the Alorna Coat Corporation in Hoboken. Upon retirement, Miriam and Stanley moved to Monroe Township where they enjoyed an active life for 28 years. Mim was an avid bowler and loved to dance.
Several years ago they relocated to The Chelsea, an assisted living community in Tinton Falls where Miriam was an active participant in social activities – she particularly loved the musical entertainment and her regular poker game.
Miriam is predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Stanley Blechman.
She is survived by her son Michael Blechman and his wife Judi, of Holmdel and her three grandchildren Adam Rosen, Leigh Blechman and Scotty Blechman. Funeral Services are private and are under the care of Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in Ocean Township.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Chai Lifeline Emergency Response Fund or Lunch Break of Red Bank, NJ in support of their Covid-19 fund.
