Richard Applebaum

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather, Richard (Dick) Applebaum, on October 21, 2014, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Frances, his son Barry (Carol), his son Jay (Carissa), his daughter Marla (Max) Schrank, his stepson Robert (Alexandra) Steiman, his stepdaughter Lori (Stephen) Littenburg, his brother Melvin, his sister Marilyn and his grandchildren Rachel, Samuel, Hannah, Naomi, Zoe, Ella and Logan.

Richard provided encouragement, love and support to all who met him. He was a devoted family man first and foremost, cherishing the time he spent with his family. He lived a rewarding and accomplished life as a senior executive in the Foodservice industry, as a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean War and as a 33 Degree Scottish Rite Mason.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE AT 1:00 PM ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24,2014 AT TEMPLE BETH MIRIAM, 180 LINCOLN AVE., ELBERON, NJ. Burial will be at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Rte 79, Morganville, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Richard Applebaum to the American Cancer Society, The National Kidney Foundation or Temple Beth Miriam.
