

Sylvia Spitzer Mandell 87, from Lakewood NJ, formally from Old Bridge NJ, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 1 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood. Born in Coney Island NY, Sylvia moved to Ramsey and eventually Old Bridge NJ to raise her children. She lived in Old Bridge for over 20 years working for Bernies Dress Store in Browntown Shopping Center, Blonder-Tongue and TJ Maxx. Upon moving to Lakewood she was employed by Costco.
Sylvia was an avid bingo and Mah Jong player, and loved spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly.
Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Samuel Mandell in 1989. She is survived by her 4 daughters and their families, Ronnie and Michael Mazur, Ship Bottom NJ, Wendy Baggs, Manchester NJ, Tami and Jeffrey Campfield, Howell NJ, Jill and Dave Shortman, Long Valley NJ. 12 Grandchildren and their spouses, Erik and Janine Mazur, Shannon and Anthony DiDonato, Jan Mazur, Allison and Craig Dierking, Timothy Baggs, Thomas Baggs, Kimberly, Jenna and Kevin Campfield, Bryan, Kyle and Evan Shortman. Also, 6 great grandchildren, Olivia, Amelia, Alex, Alyssa, Briella, and Ava. Also surviving relatives are sister-in-law Gail and brother in law Frank Costa, Mount Pleasant SC, brother in law Richard Mandell, sister in law Pauline Caron, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held by Bloomfield-Cooper Funeral home, 1300 Vermont Ave in Lakewood on Thursday, May 5 at 12 noon, interment immediately following at the B’Nai Isreal Cemetary on 1152 W. Whitty Road in Toms River.
The family will be observing a period of mourning and receiving visitors at the residence of Jeffrey and Tami Campfield, 6 Louise Drive, Farmingdale NJ, directly after services on Thursday 5/5, Friday, 5/6 from 2-8 pm and Saturday, 5/7 from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers or donations please find the gift of spending time with family and friends.
