Michael Steve Day, Sr., 67, of Glen Fork, passed away Saturday July 26, 2014. Born August 29, 1946 in Beckley he was the son of the late Edgar E. Day Jr. and Nellie Evangeline Stewart Day. After graduating from Glen Rogers High School Michael joined the Air Force and served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a retired from Peabody Coal Corp. Michael was a member of the Christ Cathedral Church in Ieager. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nyoka Gayle Fortner Day; one son, Michael Steve Day, Jr. of Glen Fork; two daughters, Patience Williams and her husband Bobby and Stepheny Day both of Glen fork; three grandchildren; Makayla Burkey, Eli Day and Demetrius Day; a great granddaughter, Peyton Burkey; one sister, Gloria Jean Dillon and her husband Conrad of Sandusky, Ohio and a niece, Jessica Dillon Compton.
