

Bud was born on October 17, 1953 in Stamford, Texas to the late Jerry Zed Wadzeck and Barbara Sue (Campbell) Gillit. He grew up in Odessa, Texas where he graduated from Odessa High School in 1972. After high school he started a family and worked as accomplished butcher in several locations to in include Everybody’s and Gooch. He later transitioned into the oil field working his way up through the ranks becoming an area manager with Trico. He retired in 2024 as a sales representative with Benro Pump.
Bud married the love of his life Carol on May 15, 1992. Together they merged individual families into one family. Bud was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved his family and enjoyed creating special memories with them. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends and cooking for them. While it might have taken a long time to get the food served it was always worth the wait. He and his wife were longtime members of Greenfield Acres Baptist Church. His legacy of faith, family loyalty, and telling it like it was will be remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue and Carl Gillit and Jerry Wadzeck; his mother-in-law, Helen Gallaway; daughter, Robin Casey and brother-in-law, Ken Jones.
He was survived by his devoted wife, Carol Wadzeck of Odessa; his son, Ted Wadzeck and his wife, Shannon of Seagraves; his daughter, Kristin Estep and her husband Christian of Mineral Wells; his son, Gary “Bud” Wadzeck and his wife, Emily of Breckenridge; stepmother, Reeta Wadzeck; sister, Pam Jones; 8 grandchildren, Sean and Michelle, Shea and Lyndsey, Liz and Jacob, Nicole, Cadence, Leah, Eli and Lilly; 4 great-grandchildren, Kamrin, Taylor, Laney, Wilder; numerous other relatives and special friends.
