Claudie Matthews, 72, of Odessa passed from this earth Monday, August 1, 2011. He was born September 13, 1938 in Lamesa, TX to Omia & Eddie Matthews. Claudie was a resident of Odessa for the past 27 years. He worked for the Western Company for more than 20 years. He retired from the Western Co. in 1989 due to medical disabilities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Juanita (Irwin) Matthews, and son, Dwayne Matthews.
He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Grreen of Elko, NV, son, Audie Harris of Dallas, daughter, Julie Wasson of Paris, TX, brother, Jim Matthews & wife Pat of Farmington, NM, and good friend and traveling companion, Helen Pruett of Odessa. He is also survived by (9) grandchildren and (1) great-grandchild & numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emmett Barnard officiating.
