Consuelo (Connie) Olivas Herrera

In memory of our loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.

Connie (Olivas) Herrera 64, of Helotes, Tx passed away on Friday June 21, 2013 in San Antonio, Tx. She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico to the late Jesus and Consuelo Olivas. She grew up in Odessa Texas and graduated from Ector High School and attended Odessa College. She worked for Ector County ISD and Abilene ISD in which she retired from in 1996.

The majority of her life was spent in Abilene where she raised her family and was very involved in the many activities of her children and organizations including Habitat for Humanity. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, and spending time with family especially her seven grandchildren and great grandson. She is survived by her two children Tony (Tracy) Herrera of Plano and Stephanie (Scott) Dukatnik of Helotes; seven grandchildren Katarina, Daniela, Carly, and Mallory (Herrera) & Anabelle, Kellen, and Kaleb (Dukatnik) as well as great grandson Jett Crawford. She is also survived by three brothers Manuel (Luisa) Olivas, Jesse (Mercy) Olivas, Albert (Julie) Olivas and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Consuelo Olivas, a brother Oscar Olivas, and a sister Catalina Olivas.

Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will be receiving guests at the residence of Jesse Olivas 804 Drury Lane, Odessa, TX.
