Mrs. Whitfield is survived by her husband, Redis Franklin Whitfield of the home, daughter Barbara Sue Peterson of Folsom, California, daughter, Dellisa Calderon of Odessa, Texas and daughter, Loriann Townsend and son-in-law, Jeff Townsend also of Odessa. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitfield is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Dykes, sister, Mittie Lee Painter, sister, Mary Ruth Edmonson, brother, T.R. Dykes Jr.,
and grandson, Craig Peterson.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Bill Hall and Greg Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
