

Edward Joseph Gonzalez, 54, went to heaven Saturday, March 14, 2015. Edward was born August 11, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas to JoAnn Dwyer & Ray Gonzalez. He graduated high school in 1978 in Derby, KS. He then moved to Odessa to work in the oilfield. He met and married Daurice Lisman and they returned to Wichita, Kansas to live. Edward worked for the City of Derby until an auto accident in January of 1989 rendered him a quadriplegic. Edward & Daurice then moved back to Odessa, even though Edward & Daurice eventually divorced they remained close friends and she was his caregiver until his death.
Edward always had a smile on his face and was an inspiration to everyone who met him. He taught people that no matter how bad things seemed there was always hope and not to give up. Edward is preceded in death by his mother & father; sisters, Donna Ketterman & Debbie Redington of Kansas. He is survived by his ex-wife, Daurice Lisman & her daughter, Pristenia Archuleta; brother, Steve Gonzalez & wife Charlene of Derby, KS; sister, Cheri Robertson of Wichita, KS; a niece & nephews.
A memorial service is pending in Derby, KS at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Services will be held in Odessa at First Christian Church at 10:00 am Saturday, March 21, 2015.
