Elias M. Tavarez Jr, 62, of Odessa passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 13, 1953 in Odessa,, TX to Elias Tavarez Sr & Isavel Martinez Tavarez. He married Lupe Gutierrez November 14, 2003 in Odessa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Elisa Tavarez & nephew, Michael Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Lupe G. Tavarez of Odessa, sons, Edward R. Rodriguez Jr. of Ft. Worth, Victor Rodriguez of Dallas, Ivan Rodriguez & wife Julie of Dallas, daughters, Kathi Sosa & husband David of Odessa, Iris Gomez & husband Joshua of Ft. Worth, brother, Esteban Tavarez & wife Oralia of Odessa, sisters, Elida Willard & husband George, Elodia Gonzales & Letecia Tavarez all of Odessa, (14) grandchildren, Matthew, & Maria Tavarez, Edward Ray III, Naomi, Aaliyah, Miriam, Natalie & Vincent Rodriguez, Joshua Michael & Jaclynn Gomez, Kimberly, Kaytlyn, & Aylee Sosa, & Joslynn Carrillo.

A Rosary will be said at 7 pm Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, March 10, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Isidore Ochiabuto officiating.
