

Elsie L. (Yates) Hatcher, 94, of Odessa left us to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Hospice House. She was born on July 11, 1918 in Capitan, NM to James & Ophelia Yates. She married Curtis L. Hatcher June 6, 1938.
From a log cabin in the Capitan Mountains to the cotton fields of Rotan, TX, to the oilfields of West Texas, she gave to all who knew her 94 beautiful years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church since 1962. She was a Sunday School teacher and the family was always involved with the “Living Tableau” at Christmas.
She was a Candy Striper for many years and worked as an election judge every year until she was 85 years old. She also worked at the tax office during tax season.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, Curtis Hatcher, her son, Mark, granddaughter, Dana Jones, and was the last sibling of the Yates line to join the reunion in Heaven.
She leaves behind a daughter, Barbara Kay Jones, son, Alton Hatcher & wife Susie all of Odessa, (2) grandchildren, Dalena Wadle & husband Chris, Travis Hatcher & wife Laci, (8) great-grandchildren, Lauren, Sarah, Forrest, Perrin, Aric, Ashton, Cayden & Bryton (Peanut).
She will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Duckett officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
