Eufemio Muñoz Alcantar

He married Irene Tijerina Peña on July 6, 1960 in Odessa and worked for the Texas Department of Transportation until he retired. Eufemio enjoyed feeding the birds and going fishing and he loved weekend and holiday gatherings with his family. He enjoyed life.

Eufemio is survived by his wife of 60 years: Irene P. Alcantar of Odessa; son: Oscar Alcantar and wife Rosemary of Odessa; daughters: Rosamaria Jimenez and husband Eulalio of San Antonio, Sandra Martinez and husband Robert of Odessa, and Alma Leticia Cruz and husband Jose Martin of Odessa; brothers: Ricardo Alcantar and wife Amalia of Presidio and Domingo Alcantar and wife Socorro of Odessa; sisters: Guadalupe Natividad of Odessa and Maria Padilla and husband Jose of Ojinaga, Chi, MX; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Lucio and Emilia Alcantar; brothers: Jose, Candelario, Gregorio and Andres Alcantar; and sisters: Genoveva Levario, and Isabel, Bonifacia, Isaura, and Francisca Alcantar.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5-9 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Chavez. Burial will follow at the Odessa II section of Ector County Cemetery. Robert P. Martinez, Oscar M. Alcantar, Marcus Jimenez, Michael Cruz, Benjamin Alcantar, and Carlos Alcantar will serve as pallbearers.
