

He was born November 6, 1931, in Amber, OK. to George Lee Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Howeth) Montgomery. He retired from the US Air Force with 21 years of service, and was a retired supervisor for TMC in Roswell, NM. He was a member of the American Legion in Odessa, where he competed in numerous pool tournaments, much to the dismay of the other contestants.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two half- brothers, Joe and Alvin and half-sister Thelma.
He is survived by his daughters Gloria Milner and husband Sanford of Odessa, Mary Beth Bannerman and husband Kenneth of Houston, Debra Jean Staples and husband, Dr. Charles of Gainesville, FL, and Georganna Murphy of Odessa, ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, ex-wife, Mary Jo Matlock of Lamesa, and his constant companion, Patti, his poodle.
There will be a visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Crossroads Fellowship with Rev. David Newton officiating. A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. MST at the Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs, NM.
