Glenda Nell Stephens Nobles Hudson, a 52 year resident of Odessa, Texas peacefully and joyfully was resurrected before her Lord Jesus Christ in the afternoon of Sunday, August 17, 2014, as she passed from this life. She was born to Floyd and Leta Stephens on September 1, 1935, in Nolan County, Texas, and was the oldest of four children. Glenda graduated from Wink High School in 1953. In 1961, she began working for the Ector County Independent School District (ECISD) and continued with ECISD for over 40 years before retiring. Her time with ECISD includes years of service with the Athletic Dept., Bonham Jr. High, Permian High and the Superintendent’s Administration office. Although she retired, she continued to assist ECISD for over 50 years total by working with the West Texas Relays and selling tickets for all football games at the stadium through 2013. Glenda was a member of First Baptist Church, Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi. She was a very elegant giving lady who enjoyed life to the fullest. Her love for the Lord, her family and friends brought her the greatest joy, as did being active and helping those who she came in contact with. Even with the diagnosis of cancer, she was determined not to let it defeat her or to be a burden on anyone. Strength comes through giving and she was an extremely strong woman.
