Harold Kenneth Calley

Harold Kenneth Calley went to the arms of his Heavenly Father, Monday, February 21, 2011.

H.K. was born in Field Creek, McCulloch County, TX June 1, 1926 to Clinton & Bertha (McLeod) Calley. He was the 5th of 6 children. He was schooled in Brady, TX. He joined the Navy during WWII in 1943 serving in the Pacific Theater. After WWII he attended college in Houston, TX. He met and married the love of his life, Betty Lou Crawford November 22, 1951 in Mason, TX. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and was a member of Sherwood Church of Christ.

He worked many jobs to support his growing family and in the later years he worked constructing gas plants. He and his wife traveled to many locations across the United States in that occupation. After retirement they enjoyed traveling with their RV with family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents & siblings, Doris Bode, Ruth James, Douglas, James & Raymond Calley & infant son, James Franklin Calley.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou, sons, Kenneth & wife Mary Ellen of Odessa, TX, & Robert Calley of LaMirada, CA, grandsons, Clinton Calley & wife Gina of Odessa, James Calley of LaMirada, CA, Mark Calley of Austin, John Calley & wife Dorothy of LaHabra, CA & granddaughter, Jessica Calley of Arlington, TX, great-grandchildren, Sayuri & Cooper Calley of Odessa & Lilian Calley of LaHabra, CA & numerous nieces & nephews.

There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at Sherwood Church of Christ with Lonnie Hamil officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Resthaven Cemetery in Brady, TX with Steve Calley officiating.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be

Eddie Foster, David Burton, R. B. Honeycutt, Levi Kemp & Donald Bowen.
